Jacques Burvick

​Producer, songwriter, artist, and arranger, Jacques Burvick has been the backbone for many successful projects in the musical genres of Jazz, R&B, Dance, Hip Hop and Pop. With a history of Billboard success, Jacques has worked with renowned recording artists to include: Norman Connors, Lonnie Liston Smith, Angela Bofill, Maysa, Jean Carne, Pharaoh Sanders, Freddy Hubbard, Roy Ayers, Pucho & The Latin Soul Brothers, Kim Waters, Marion Meadows, Rachelle Farrell, Tom Brown, Willie Colon,  the late Phyllis Hyman, Grover Washington Jr., Jon Lucien, Stanley Turrentine, and others.

As long-time Musical Director for Grammy nominated artist Norman Connors, Jacques has produced, performed and written material appearing on CAPITOL, MOTOWN, ARISTA, RCA, CBS, BUDDAH, ELECTRA, SONY and EMI RECORDS. ​

Recent independent productions include a 2015 collaboration composition with Hip Hop producer DJ Premier on the song AEAO performed by Korean recording artist Dynamic Duo. The song has resulted in chart topping success in the Asia market and is currently included on the 2016 released soundtrack to the NBA 2K16 basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports.

A native of New York, NY, Jacques attended Columbia University prior to becoming an accomplished Jazz pianist and keyboard artist. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Asia. He has worked extensively with Black Entertainment Television creating works ranging from the production of music featured in national advertising and marketing campaigns in addition to appearing as on-air host for the internationally distributed television show JAZZ CENTRAL that featured performances by legendary and popular recording artist on the BET JAZZ cable television network. ​
Previous projects include serving as music director for the 2011 Paul Robeson Film Festival at Howard University and the co-production of a documentary film entitled: Alpha Achiever Sankofa: A Journey to Ghana, West Africa. Other music projects include the production of a suite of music CD's commissioned by Clarence O.Smith, Founder of Essence Magazine. The project was recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Los Angeles, CA, New York and Washington, DC and featured legendary and break out recording artists including: Luciana Mello, the late Ollie Woodson, Edmon Costa, Alexandre Lucas, Marva King, Denise Stewart, Diana Booker, and others. The flagship recording of the suite is entitled The Soul of Brazil and was released in Brazil, Europe and Asia. The Soul of Brazil is a collection of fusion compositions that blends Brazilian Soul with American R&B and Jazz rhythms.

​In addition to global live performances that showcase his stellar musical talent, Jacques is working on upcoming literary projects include an original screenplay. The storyline features a team of multi ethnic characters, led by a black super hero, exploring the future of the Hip Hop music culture. As a journalist, Jacques has worked as a contributing writer to the national health & fitness magazine HEART & SOUL.  As the founder of Valda Entertainment, he is on a constant mission to innovate and evolve in all musical genres and artistic expressions while preserving the foundation of music education.     ​

​Jacques can be seen as a host of JAZZ CENTRAL, a cable television show featuring performances by legendary and popular performers and aired internationally on the BET JAZZ cable network. As a journalist, Jacques' has launched a music industry web publications Artist Who Move and the Producer's Corner Blog available at www.valdamusic.com. As as contributing writer his work was included in a feature article on famed female boxer Laila Ali that was published as the cover story in the national health & fitness magazine HEART & SOUL.
